Class Four

Class Teacher: Mr Toner

Support Staff: Mrs Gunnell, Miss Park, Miss Nicholas

Our Pioneers class is a single year group class made up of our Year Six children. By the time children reach our Pioneers Class, they have experienced many memorable moments and learning experiences. They are ready to build on these with a growing maturity as they prepare to work hard towards the end of key stage two program of study, statutory assessment point in Year 6 (SATS) and in preparation for their secondary education. We work closely with all of the local secondary schools to plan in transition opportunities before the children leave their primary school years and our aim is that although the children will be sad to leave, they will be more than ready for their next adventure.

For further information about our long term curriculum, please see the ‘Our Curriculum’ page of our website where you can also find out about our approach to teaching different subjects.

Historic Curriculum Newsletters and Reviews by Term (2022-2023):

A new Curriculum Newsletter will be produced each term followed by a curriculum review at the end of each term.

END OF KEY STAGE TWO EXPECTATIONS

When children are in Year 6 they will be assessed against the end of key stage two teacher assessment framework; a mixture of formal tests (SATS) and teacher assessment in writing and science. Further information about SATS will be shared in the spring term.
